Watercolor artist, Evy Okerstrom, a native of Philadelphia, PA is a graduate of Savannah State University, with a B.S. in Business Management. From an early age, she wanted to learn to paint with watercolors and later in life began a serious study of the art. Evy moved to New Smyrna Beach in 2014 and her paintings are displayed at the Hub on Canal.

Evy is attracted to subjects that have unique shapes and colors, and is looking for the unusual to surprise the viewer. Most of the time the subjects are part of her everyday life and she begins her paintings with a value study.

One of Evy’s favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt: “You must do all the things you think you cannot do.”
