“Spanish Girl on Bench Reading” 10″ x 11″ framed with white frame, $100. Print $25 (Purchase)
Wow! It is good to have you all back.
May was a transitional month for us here in Central Florida. Starting May 4th, some businesses were allowed to reopen including retail. That included the Hub. They reopened Monday, May 11th. That day, I went in and updated my display wall with some new artwork. The pieces were all done during the 8 week shutdown. I will display them here for those of you who live out of town.
The Hub has worked very hard to have everything clean and sanitary for visitors. There are rules for volunteers and artists to follow. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building. The Hub will have their first Saturday event on June 6th. For now, they will continue to have the Music and Talk Art Series through YouTube.
The “Watercolor Class by Internet Series”: During the shutdown, one of my projects has been to send out a weekly email about some art that I was working or thinking about. Initially I sent it to the group who comprised my small class at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Then it expanded a little bit more to a few others who follow art. Now that we are allowed to get out, I am looking into some places where we can have a class. I am working out some details as I write this. I will send an email out as soon as I know where and when it will be. The other project I have been working on is the 4th Annual Hub Members Show: This is open to all Hub members and will be the July exhibit. The Theme is: The Light Shining Through: Apart and Together. The artwork must have been created during the isolation period beginning March 2020. The fee to enter is $20. Deadline to enter is Friday, June 5th by 4 pm. Check the Hub website for details. Look under “Art” for the Registration and Prospectus site. The exhibit will be an “interactive art display” with one gallery wall covered with netting. Visitors will have pencil and paper available to write down their comments about the artwork. There will be clips to attach their notes to the netting. Should be interesting! Saturday, the 4th of July will be the opening of the exhibit.
“Getting Her Feet Wet”, Watercolor and Pastel, 12″ x 14″ framed, Price $300.(Purchase)
Artwork on my Website: I want to thank the people who bought several of my paintings last month. I really appreciated it very much. I wanted to let everyone know I have been updating my website to include my latest artwork. Please take a look. I also added a flat fee for shipping paintings. I am not charging for mailing cards and calendars.
Here is my shortened schedule:
- First Saturday, June 6th: The Hub is now open. I plan on being there from 10 to 2. I will have some Giclee prints available for sale, and there are a few calendars left. I look forward to seeing you.
- Hub Spring into Fall Sale: Has been rescheduled. Members Preview: Thursday, September 17th 5:30 – 7 pm. Public Art Sale: September 18-19-20, Friday thru Sunday will be regular hours.
Thank you again. Here is my thought for the day….”Advice from a River”, “Go with the flow – immerse yourself in nature. Slow down and meander – go around obstacles. Be thoughtful of those downstream – stay current. The beauty is in the journey.” Ilan Shamir
