“Pelican” available for purchase at the Hub during the month of September. Painting can be purchased there for $200. Purchase Cards for $4
August is just finishing up as I write this…It might be the vacation month, but I have used it to get new ideas and plans for my blog, paintings, and workshops. First off, I was inspired by my Grandson, Ian Campbell, who graduated from the University of North Florida. I am inserting a picture of him with his proud parents, Amy and Scott Campbell. Ian received a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business. The UNF campus, in Jacksonville, is located on 1300 acres of a nature preserve. It is worth going to see the native landscaping and wildlife. Then I was lucky to visit the Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville.
I am going to have a few pictures from the Butterfly Rainforest so you can see how amazing that was. The butterfly habitat is 15 years old, and is in a huge screened outdoor facility. They receive butterflies from all over the world, so they have constant supply as most live only 2 weeks. I did have some time to work on some new images for my paintings and the workshop coming up in September. I am going to preview one this month. I will finish with my three pillars of sustainability next month. It will be about the last part, which is the economics of sustaining business for the future. Now, here are some September events:
“Sunflower in Pen” one of the drawings I will be doing for my workshop.
First Saturday at the Hub, September 7th: I plan on being at the Hub from 10 to 2. I will have some new pictures on my wall for September, so I hope you will stop by. I will be working on some new pen and ink studies. I also have my 2020 Calendars available. The price is still the same at $15. Free Shipping if you live out of town.
“Artists Choice”: The Artists’ Workshop Gallery will have a new exhibit opening Saturday, September 7th in conjunction with First Saturday on Canal Street. This show has no specific theme, and artists can enter whatever medium they want. I will have one of my pen and ink pictures in the gallery. The gallery, located at 115 Canal Street, NSB, is now open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
I am calling All Artists for the Artists Workshop Community Galleries: Sometime in early September, I would like to change the pictures at Dr. Daquila’s Office in Port Orange; I will need about 16 pictures. Also, I have a new venue: Trinity Lutheran Church on Turnbull Bay Road, NSB. I will need about 12 pictures for this one. Please call me at 859-699-1506 or email me at ero814@yahoo.com if interested.

Here is my thought for today: “Do not dread the grand effects in the sky and on the sea go after them in their variety and their power without worrying about convention. Eugene Louis Boudin (French, 1824-1898) From, “French Moderns, Monet to Matisse 1850-1950”.
